Your dryer vent exhaust system begins with the transition hose that runs from your dryer to the wall. From there,  the system continues through the walls, crawlspace, or attic where it exits to the exterior of the building. In the old days, most dryers were located off the garage or kitchen, where it easily vented out an exterior wall.
